  • Notes 
    • Thurman Fleming died of a gunshot wound to the head supposedly
      self-inflicted. His second wife, May Anderson Fleming was wounded in
      the
      head at the same time supposedly inflicted by Thurman. May Anderson
      Fleming lived one month following this incident and said incident was
      never investigated by the police. There is evidence that points to the
      fact that the gunshot wounds were inflicted by a third party who was
      never named. They had one son, Sammie Robert Fleming who in 1991
      lived
      close to his father's homeplace on Big Ridge, Dickenson County, VA.
