    • COMBS, John, S35851, VA Line, was b 7 Feb 1761, enlisted in Frederick or Shenandoah Cty VA, applied 13 May 1825 Perry County KY, in 1825 had a wife Margaret aged about 55 & children, John, Sally aged 27 a wid with 3 children, to wit; Samuel 9 or 10, Harvey 7 & Thomas aged 1 yr, his daughter Margret aged 18 also had a child Hyskiah aged 1 yr, in 1825 a Jesse COMBS was Clerk of the Perry County Circuit Court, his brothers mentioned in 1825 were Henry, Nicholas & William COMBS. He was still living in 1837 (Virgil D. White, Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Abstract Files.)
