From an article in The Cumberland Empire
1932 Edition, Written by Elihu Jasper Sutherland and Copied by
Betty S. Sutherland,

According to family tradition
Marshall was a nephew of Revolutionary John Mullins.

Marshall Mullins first home in Dickenson County Virginia was near
Horseshoe Bend on Cranesnest River. After living there for a while he
moved to the mouth of Brush Creek of Pound River where he lived for
the
rest of his life. He was badly addicted to drink, which finally ruined
him.

Marshall and Sara were formally married after their children were
grown.
The children went by the name of Potter until their parents were
married
and then changed their names to Mullins.

Isom Mullins was a fanatical republican for some reason and got into a
lot of fights with his democrat neighbors, earning him the name of
WildCat Isom Mullins. Tradition says that he would fight so fiercely
that he would continue to fight even to the point where his clothing
was
in shreads and torn off. Several of his son were known as Wildcat
because they liked to fight too.

I tie in on both sides, Elbie Garnet Fleming and Roseanne Mullins.
